November 29 was born the seventh son, John Ambrose in the family of Rev. James Fleming DD .








1854
The family moved to Tufnell Park, London, why the father should preside at Congregational Chapel in Kentish Town.








1860
He attended the College School, Gower Street.




 



1866
He began his studies all 'University College London.








1870
November 30 graduated.

1871Science Mastership at Rossall School.



 


1872
He studied chemistry at the Royal College of Science, South
Kensington. 





 


1873
He presented his first article on the Congress of the Physical Society of London 'On the new Contact Theory of the Galvanic Cell'

1874
He graduated in science at the University of Cheltenham.




 


1877
He attended the Cambridge University, and follows the lessons of mathematics Besant with Stokes and James Clerk Maxwell. (1831-1879)







1881
He began his career as a lecturer at Nottingham University College as a professor of physics and mathematics.  It receives an annual salary of 400 paid supplemented by a percentage of the fees paid by its students.  There remains only one year




 


1882
He became assistant "Edison Electric Light Company, London.




 


1882
He teaches at St. John’s College, a Cambridge. 




 



1884
He is professor of electrical technology (later Engineering) at the University College of London.







1885
Publish "Necessity for a Standardising National Laboratory for electrical instrumentation. (Need of standardization of power tools in laboratories)



 


1887
11 June It marries Clara Pratt Ripley (1856/7–1917) (2)







1886
Ferranti becomes member of the new company for the distribution of Electricity in London. Enterprise which will cease its activities in 1994.







1892
He is elected as a member of the Royal Society.

Assume the post of assistant of Marconi Company.







1917

He died the consort Clara Ripley Pratt.







1926

It withdraws "Greenfield" with his two sisters. In the new residence creates a small workshop in the basement for his experimental work.

1928(27 July 1928) They answer with Miss Olive May Franks of Bristol. (b. 1898/9) (2)



 



1930
Assume the office of President of the "Television Society"







1945
April 18 died in Sidmouth, Devon.
