June 7 born in Bratislava (Pressburg) in the family of Weinhändlers Philipp von Lenard Lenardis and mother Antoine Frau Baumann during the Austro-Hungarian monarchy.


   

1881
Study in technical schools in Budapest and Vienna.


 

1882
Cooperates with his father in his business


   

1883
He studied physics in Heidelberg with teachers Quincke Hermann (1834-1924) and Robert Bunsen (1811-1899)


 

1885
Continued his studies in Berlin


 

1886
He exhibited his thesis in Heidelberg "Über die Schwingungen fallender Tropfen" (variations on the falling drops) theory proposed by Hermann von Helmholtz (1822-1894) in Berlin


 

1886-89
 He is assistant Hermann Quincke


They married Katharina Schlehner, daughter of an 'adviser' court di first degree  Charles Schlehner e di  Sofie Sofie Schreiber   ( Heidelberg), Of First Instance Charles Schlehner and Sofie Sofie Schreiber (Heidelberg)
Born March 5, 1870 Pfullendorf - Konstanz , who died 11 June 1946 to Messelhausen (Großherzogtum Baden) (Grand-Duché bain).

Emigrates in England but after only six months returnees and he became assistant Heinrich Hertz at the University of Bonn, this period begins  Experimenting with katodnih.

Ensures the essential characteristics of 'photoelectric effect, he found that the quantity of electrons freed grows with the increase of light radiation, but their speed depends only by the wavelength.  Einstein explained this in 1905 with the idea of light quanta.

Envelope "Dynamidenmodell" (dynamic model) of the atom, most of the atom is made up of the vacuum.

He is  honored with the Nobel Prize for Physics.

Director of the Institute of Physics and Radiology in Heidelberg.

Before World War, October 4 participates with 93 other intellectuals to Drafting of the resolution "Aufruf an die Kulturwelt"  (Appeal to the world cultural)


   

1922
June 27 The anti-Semitic group that occupies the Institute belongs to which participates actively, the Minister of Culture Willy Hellpach suspending the service Lenard. The association of physicists, other teachers and students from Heidelberg demonstrate support for Lenard and Minister Hellpach Lenard back to his duties.


 

1924
Lenard in collaboration with Johannes Stark Nobel prize also write the appeal "Hitlergeist und Wissenschaft (Hitler-spirit and science).  Following this public statement to Hitler and Erich Ludendorff, the Institute of Lenard becomes the center of German right-wing militancy


 

1926
Hitler personally knows


   

1936-37
Lenard becomes one of the most responsible for the national-socialist party (NSDAP) .(National Socialist German Workers Party) (Nazi party).


 

1945
The allies do not Imprison Lenard advanced age (83 years)


   

1947
He died near Messelhausen May 20.
