His father was an engineer and electrician's son Jack follows in the footsteps of his father.  In 1947 is assistant electrician at the University of Illinois, then moved in'50 at the University of Wisconsin. During this period (47-58) is employed by the company Centralab, Milwaukee, WI where working on the design and development of arrays for screen printing on ceramic. Working since 1958 to Texas Instruments as responsible for the development of integrated circuits in 1960 Are placed on the first CI. From 1960 to 62 is responsible for the semiconductor sector networks, then director of research laboratories until 1970, after this date becomes consultant to TI part time.  From 1978 to 1984 he has been teaching at Texas A & M University, College Station, TX in electrical engineering. 2000 Nobel Prize for Physics
