This
letter was written by Marconi while he was at the Haven Hotel to George
Kemp discussing experiments between stations at Crookhaven, Co. Cork,
Ireland
and Poldhu. The letter is in Marconi's handwriting and reads:
'
I
am leaving on Wednesday for Crookhaven between which and Poldhu I am
going
to continue long distance experiments.' Marconi raises his concerns
about
the mast specifications for the experiments. However, he does say that
' When at St Catherine's I received very good reports from Poldhu.' The
experiments between Poldhu and Crookhaven were called the '225 mile'
experiments
and were an important part of the preparation for the Transatlantic
transmissions. |
