Lettera  di Henry Jameson-Davis a Marconi 27 aprile 1897

LETTER: IMPATIENT SUBSCRIBERS TO THE COMPANY

This letter is prior to the formation of the first Marconi Company. The letter from Henry Jameson-Davis to Marconi expresses his concerns regarding the delay in the official signing of contracts, as there are a number of subscribers becoming anxious that the Company should be officially formed. The letter finishes:
' Your early reply to this will much oblige, as I cannot keep all this money and the subscribers waiting indefinately.'This letter is accompanied by a letter from an 'anxious subscriber' who states that 'unless the agreement with Mr Marconi is carried out at once we shall be compelled to ask you to return the cheque for £1,500.'
When The Wireless Telegraph and Signal Company was formed in 1897 Marconi was in Italy giving demonstrations of his apparatus to Italian Government. Marconi entrusted Henry Jameson-Davis with the formation of his Company, which was registered on 20 July 1897, with Jameson-Davis as the first Managing Director. Marconi was the major share holder and the Company enabled his to experiment and develop his apparatus further. In 1900 the name was changed to Marconi's Wireless Telegraph Company, and in 1963 to The Marconi Company.
